Brown: warm. Rich and varied. Indicates culture and prestige due to the connection to wood and leather. Certain shades can indicate sadness (falling leaves)
White: pure, virginal, clear. Indicates cleanliness, simplicity and clarity. Contributes to a sense of spaciousness and size. However it sometimes creates an appearance of sterility, commonplace and boredom. White walls are no longer in fashion.
Black: elegant, conservative. Automatically associated with night and also death. The use of Black on large surfaces will decrease the space and create an effect of darkness, but will produce a dramatic atmosphere for those seeking this effect.
Grey:neutral, pleasant to the eye provided that the shade is not to dark. Contributes to concentration and does not disturb the eyes. For example it is advisable to choose a grey office desk, even though Grey might not be in fashion.
